Michael
Hockaday started out playing the drums at the age
of fifteen. He switched to guitar sometime later because
"there were no jobs playing drums. Michael has
had the pleasure of working with some of the top names
in the business, backing acts like Clint Black, Keith
Whitley, Randy Travis, Mel MacDaniel, Shelly West, Jerry
Reed, Johnny Paycheck, Ronnie MacDowell and David Frizzell.
In 1987, his band, Blackwater won the 1987 East Coast
Country Music Championship. Michael has been with the
East Coast Opry since the beginning and truly enjoys
every performance.
Carol
and Stan Bateman have been performing together as
The Southern Sweethearts for over ten years. Their love
of traditional Country Music has taken them from Virginia
to Texas and back again, performing with some of the
best entertainers that Country Music has to offer. Whether
performing individually or together, Carol and Stan
always bring the audience to their feet in appreciation
of their music. The duo has been a part of the East
Coast Opry family for over a year and couldn't be happier
about the situation. Carol and Stan want everyone to
come along and enjoy the show, relax, laugh and sing
along.
Bubba Yardbrick was
born and raised in Backflatts, Virginia, where he has
spent most of his life learning where the best fishing
holes are, but he won't tell just anyone where they
are. His wife Jitterbug takes care of everything so
that Bubba's spare time (which is all his time) can
be spent on truly important things, like entertaining
people with his famous briefcase in hand or trying to
invent something useful to benefit all mankind or at
least work. Bubba is currently running for Mayor of
Backflatts and sure would appreciate your vote this
coming election.
Trish
Bonwell came to singing later in her life after
a car accident ended her athletic career. Throughout
high school she had been a mainstay on the basketball,
softball, track and gymnastic teams. The accident left
her in a coma for five days and she had to wear a halo
brace for three months to protect her neck. Focusing
her energy on singing, she joined the church choir and
soon began receiving solos and getting asked to sing
in weddings. From there she has progressed to singing
the National Anthem for the Richmond Rage and the Richmond
Braves. Trish recently won five Virginia Sound Achievement
Awards, including Country Music Artist of the Year,
Female Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year (for "The
Road Less Traveled") and Entertainer of the Year.
Trish has done some promotional modeling for companies
including Adidas Sports Wear, Chaquita, Fendi, Goody
Goody Teddy Bears and the Winston Cup Series. Trish
is married to financial planner Bill Bonwell.
